Shawn Higashi DDS, FRCD(C)

Board Certified Specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. Shawn Higashi was born and raised in Southern British Columbia. He received his BSc & DDS (with distinction) degrees from the University of Alberta. He then completed a Hospital Dentistry Residency program at the University of British Columbia Health Sciences Centre in Vancouver.

Dr. Higashi went on to complete his residency program and specialty training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Oklahoma. He is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

After completing his surgical specialty training, Dr. Higashi spent several years providing Head & Neck reconstruction and trauma surgery in Thunder Bay Ontario.

Dr. Higashi returned to Calgary, Alberta in 2013 and has hospital privileges at all five of the Calgary Zone Hospitals and the University of Calgary. Dr. Higashi teaches residents at the Foothills Medical Centre Dental Clinic.

Shawn values time with his wife Tracey and their two children. They enjoy a variety of sports and outdoor activities. Dr. Higashi is pleased to join the fantastic team at Chinook Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Higashi is a Registered Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in Alberta, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada FRCD(C).
